Tyson Fury’s Manager Stresses Importance of Another Tune-Up Fight Despite Gypsy King’s Focus on Anthony Joshua
TYSON FURY’S manager has introduced a fresh angle to the highly anticipated match against Anthony Joshua, suggesting that Fury would like to have a “warm-up” fight before taking on AJ.
In the wake of his impressive performance against Arslanbek Makhmudov, Fury confidently announced during the post-fight press conference that he would only face Joshua next.
At 37, Fury called out Joshua after the fight, paving the way for a potentially historic event in British boxing history.
Nevertheless, his manager, Spencer Brown, has now indicated that Fury is seeking one more fight prior to the highly publicized match with Joshua.
In parallel, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has suggested that AJ is also aiming for a preliminary fight, which is rumored to occur on July 25, ahead of a possible year-end showdown.
Fury’s camp seems to be on board with this approach as well.

Brown stated: “We’re signed and ready to go.”
“However, Tyson has been out of the ring for a considerable time before returning, so we would likely prefer one more fight before the AJ encounter – a proper warm-up, and then we’re set.”
He also noted that the delay could stem from the other side needing to finalize contracts.
Brown added: “We’re just waiting for Anthony’s signature, and for Eddie to sign.”

“We’re all prepared; it’s just a matter of finalizing the particulars now.”
Current discussions revolve around potential venues and dates, with boxing’s significant figure, Turki Al-Sheikh, playing a crucial role.
Brown confirmed: “Ultimately it rests with His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh.”
“We’d love Wembley, but it depends on availability, scheduling, and the weather.
“It could unfold anywhere – we’ve held events in November [Fury vs Chisora 3 in winter] previously under tough conditions.”
A summer warm-up for both fighters may delay any long-awaited matchup into the winter months.

Brown acknowledges that the timeline is tight if Fury chooses another fight first.
He noted: “If Tyson fights in July, then the main event may follow in October, November, or December — it has to be expedited.”
Despite these challenges, both sides remain optimistic that the Battle of Britain will finally happen.
Teams representing both Fury and AJ are hopeful this match will take place within the current year.
