Khaby Lame Named Youth Olympic Games Ambassador for Dakar 2026

Dakar – Khaby Lame has been officially named the ambassador for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), generating excitement as Africa prepares for its first Olympic sporting event.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in the lead-up to the Games, enhancing the event’s visibility and broadening its global appeal.

A social media sensation with hundreds of millions of followers globally, the Italian-Senegalese influencer joins a distinguished group of ambassadors such as Omar Sy, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Eva Neymar.

This impressive roster underscores the extensive engagement that Dakar 2026 is fostering, reaching well beyond sports.

Lame, who received his official appointment on 26 March 2023 in Dakar, expressed his pride in being part of this historic occasion for the continent: “This commitment reflects my desire to support young African talent, in sports and beyond.

“Dakar 2026 will give our continent the opportunity to showcase its best and inspire youth in Africa and across the globe.
