DANIEL ‘DYNAMITE’ DUBOIS has shared that the experience of fatherhood inspires him to strive for greater success in his boxing career.

The typically reserved Londoner, who is currently training for a bout with British heavyweight rival Fabio Wardley, happily announced the arrival of his son, baby Zion.

At 28, Dubois and his partner Raissa are gearing up to celebrate their son’s first birthday this month.

He expressed to SunSport: “My Zion, yes, that’s it — everything is fantastic!”

“Having my boy gives me strength. He inspires me even more.”

“I want to be a role model for him as he grows.”

In 2023, Dubois ventured to Saudi Arabia for a crucial match against US drug cheat Jarrell Miller, also known as Big Baby.

Dubois not only succeeded mentally but also claimed victory in the ring.

With his son Zion in his life, the pre-fight banter took on a heartfelt meaning.

He reminisced: “During the match against Jarrell Miller, I told him I was his daddy.”

Despite his impressive 17st physique, Dubois often presents himself as a warm-hearted person in a tough sport.

However, when he declined a handshake from Wardley at their press event for May’s match in Manchester, it was not a frivolous gesture.

He remarked: “I aimed to get into his head! It wasn’t personal — the banter was enjoyable. But we have a matchup to focus on now. We can exchange pleasantries later.”

“This is both a sport and a business: a gladiatorial affair all in one.”

Many British heavyweights have encountered each other throughout their careers, and Dubois and Wardley are no different.

Though Dubois was recognized as a future star from the age of nine, Wardley worked in recruitment, treating boxing as a diversion until his twenties.

The two participated in training sessions during their 2017 pro debuts, and Dubois remembers those sparring rounds as demanding yet constructive.

He reflected, “He truly tested me back then. He’s always been a tenacious fighter.”

“We’ve both evolved significantly since then. Now, we’ll showcase our abilities under the spotlight.”
