Emirates Celebrates Ramadan and Sends Warm Wishes of ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ to Customers

Dubai – To honor the spirit of unity and generosity during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Emirates (www.Emirates.com) will distribute thousands of iftar boxes to customers who are fasting, both onboard and at boarding gates. Additionally, they will provide complimentary Emirates prayer mats, feature a variety of religious content and popular TV shows on ice, and serve traditional Ramadan dishes in their lounges.

Emirates Iftar Boxes at Boarding Gates

To ensure a comfortable experience for all fasting passengers, complimentary iftar boxes—filled with water, laban, a banana, and dates—will be available at select Emirates Boarding Gates during iftar time.

Emirates Ramadan Meal Boxes and Prayer Mats Onboard

During Ramadan, customers breaking their fast across all cabin classes on certain routes will receive nutritionally balanced Ramadan meal boxes.

These iftar meals are presented in specially designed boxes by Emirates, featuring the geometric patterns of traditional Islamic art.

The meal boxes include classic dates, light bites such as hummus, moutabel, or muhammara served with Arabic bread, hearty selections like chicken mossakan or herbed chicken sandwich, and sweet treats like chocolate almonds, baklawa pistachio mamoul, or baklawa pine seed cashew, along with laban. Emirates’ Ramadan boxes enhance the regular hot meal service.

To ensure accurate timing for fasting Muslim travelers, Emirates employs a unique tool that calculates the correct timings for imsak (the start of fasting) and iftar during the flight based on sunrise and sunset times relevant to the flight’s location, using the aircraft’s longitude, latitude, and altitude.

Passengers will receive official notification of iftar time from the captain when the sun sets.

Additionally, complimentary keepsake prayer mats are available on all flights upon request from the Cabin Crew.

Ramadan Refreshments in the Lounges

At the 7 Emirates Lounges located in Dubai International Airport (DXB), a variety of Arabic sweets, dates, and coffee will be offered throughout Ramadan.

Traditional dishes in the First and Business Class lounges will include an assortment of hot and cold Arabic mezze, lentil soup, Arabic mixed grill with tahina, lamb kabsa, chicken machboos served with cucumber yoghurt sauce, lamb shanks ouzi with hashweh rice, and dakous, followed by desserts such as pistachio kunafa, kathayef cream, basbousa saffron, kitta cheesecake, cheese kunafa, walnut kathayef, along with homemade Arabic coffee and dates ice cream, or baklawa ice cream, as well as a selection of traditional Arabic pastries and classic beverages like jallab and laban.

Emirates Lounges in Cairo and Jeddah will also feature a delightful assortment of Ramadan dishes.

All Emirates Lounges are equipped with dedicated prayer rooms and ablution facilities to provide a peaceful environment for worship.

Ramadan Content and Popular Series on ice

During this Holy Month, Emirates ice will present a range of special religious programs, including Kheir Qodwa, Qalb Al Mo’men, Wa Yatoub Allah Alaykom, Al Huqooq Al Sharaeya, and Nafhat in Arabic.

In Urdu, ice will showcase Ramadan Mah e Rehmat and Hoshyarian.

The Holy Qur’an will also be accessible on ice.
