Chaos at the Start of the 2026 Winter Olympics: Power Outage Disrupts Curling Match

The Olympic curling competition faced significant disruption as the power went out less than ten minutes into the event.

Curling was among the first sports scheduled at the Games, taking place before the official opening ceremony in Cortina.

Unfortunately, conditions worsened swiftly as the venue encountered lighting problems right at the match’s commencement.

Teams from Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, South Korea, Canada, Czechia, Estonia, and Switzerland participated in the opening mixed doubles round robin.

Fans were left bewildered as technical issues emerged just minutes following the event’s start.
