Marcus Rashford Discusses What Fuels His Success at Barcelona Following Departure from Manchester United
MARCUS RASHFORD has shared the motivation behind his remarkable comeback since departing Manchester United.
The 28-year-old made a season-long loan switch to Barcelona at the beginning of the season and has quickly become a vital member of the team.
This season, Rashford has notched up 18 goal contributions across 24 appearances.
He attributes his impressive form to a significant surge in confidence and motivation, with a permanent move to the Nou Camp as his ultimate aim.
When questioned about the chance of extending his stay in Spain beyond next summer, the forward told Spanish outlet Sport: “Absolutely, that’s my aspiration, but it’s not the only reason I’m putting in the effort.”

“If I’m at a club that doesn’t demand this standard of excellence, it becomes more difficult for me to stay motivated.

On settling into life in Catalonia, Rashford remarked: “From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of belonging. My objective here is to support the team and help them win silverware.”
“Last year they had an exceptional season, but as in life and football, circumstances can swiftly change, so we must strive to replicate last year’s achievements.
“I’m wholly dedicated to this endeavor, and both the staff and players recognize my commitment, which is very motivating.”
Recently, Rashford garnered praise from manager Hansi Flick, who noted his professionalism.
The Barcelona coach stated: “When he’s on the bench, it reflects that we have a strong team.
“I can say that he’s an extremely professional player; his attitude and mindset are outstanding.
“At first, he needed some time to adjust, but now he has reached his peak performance level. I communicate with players who aren’t on the pitch, explaining the reasons.
“And he told me, mister, in England they call you boss, ‘You don’t need to explain this to me. It’s about the team; we need to secure three points, nothing else counts.’
“That’s the right mindset, his mentality, and I’m truly glad to have him here.“
Barcelona has the option to make the forward’s loan permanent next summer.
However, it remains uncertain whether they will take that option.
Rashford had fallen out of favor with Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim prior to his exit, which significantly curtailed his playing opportunities.
Consequently, he spent the latter part of the last season at Aston Villa, where he recorded 10 goal contributions in 17 appearances.
