Vinals has occupied this position for nearly nine years, nearing the maximum recommended duration under UK corporate governance standards. Ramos will assume the role at the bank’s annual meeting on May 8, pending regulatory approval.

“Maria is a proven leader with extensive industry knowledge and a strategic vision,” said CEO Bill Winters. “I eagerly anticipate collaborating with her as we embark on the next stage of our growth.”
