SuperSport to Broadcast Live Netball Matches between South Africa and Jamaica in Series
Johannesburg – SuperSport has obtained the broadcasting rights for the Jamaica vs South Africa Netball Series.
In a brief announcement on Saturday, (18 January 2025), SuperSport stated that it was “excited to share that Your World of Champions, SuperSport, has acquired the broadcast rights for South Africa’s tour of Jamaica for the three-Test Margaret Beckford Sunshine netball series”.
The series will kick off in Kingston, Jamaica, on Sunday, (19 January 2025).
The Spar Proteas concluded the year 2024 in impressive form, finishing as the No. 1 ranked team in Africa.
Now, they face the Sunshine Girls, the third-ranked team in the world after Australia and New Zealand.
The matches in Jamaica are scheduled for January 19, 23, and 26 at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.
This series is a part of SuperSport’s leading global #HereForHer campaign, which aims to promote and celebrate women’s sports as well as women’s involvement in sports.
The #HereForHer campaign was launched during the 2023 Netball World Cup held in South Africa, where SuperSport made history as the first broadcaster worldwide to deploy an all-female (120-member) production crew for an international tournament.
