Matric 2024 Results: Conveniently View Your Results Online, Through SMS, or at Your School/Exam Center
Johannesburg—Results for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) 2024 exams will be accessible at the school or center where candidates took their exams starting this morning, Tuesday, (14 January 2025), when schools open at 8 a.m.
The Department of Basic Education stated that visiting the school or center where candidates sat for their exams remains one of the most dependable and secure methods to obtain results.
Candidates can also retrieve their results online from the Department of Basic Education (DBE) Website.
To access the results:
- Have your examination number readily available.
- Ensure your name and ID details are correctly displayed on your statement of results.
- Report any discrepancies to the Department before February 12, 2025.
Gauteng Matric Results (GMR) app
- The Gauteng Department of e-Government has introduced the GMR app, offering a secure and private way to access results via smartphones and digital devices.
- Department spokesperson Neo Goba noted that this initiative improves accessibility and transparency while safeguarding learners’ privacy.
SMS and USSD services
Candidates can check their results on their cellphones by following these steps:
- SMS Method:
- Text your exam number to 35658.
- SMS messages cost R1.50 per message.
- USSD Method:
- Dial *120*35658#, then follow the prompts.
- USSD charges are 50c per 20 seconds.
- Only one cellphone number can be linked per exam number.
Important: These services are exclusively for the NSC examinations conducted by the DBE and are not applicable for Independent Examinations Board (IEB) results.
