Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has more points than 20 Springboks

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has taken to international rugby like a duck to water and is rightly being hailed as the ‘next big thing’ in South African rugby.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu, still only 22-years-old, has slotted in effortlessly into the Springbok fold and has eight caps under his belt at the time of publishing.

Of those eight Tests, Feinberg-Mngomezulu has started three and come off the bench in the other five.

What is Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s best position?

Many have called for him to get a prolonged run in the fullback jersey with 35-year-old Willie le Roux’s days numbered.

Perhaps his best position will be flyhalf, with Handre Pollard nearer to the end of his career than the start.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu made his debut against Wales at Twickenham in London in June this year.

He has scored 52 points to date, thanks to eight penalties and 14 conversions.

That already puts him 54th in the list of all-time Springbok Test points scorers. Bear in mind that 944 players have represented South Africa since the first ever Test played in 1891.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu has already scored more points than a host of household names in South African rugby, including, among others:

Just ahead of Feinberg-Mngomezulu in the all-time points scored list tied on 55 are Gerry Brand, Bob Skinstad, Bismarck du Plessis and Damian De Allende.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu became the 43rd Diocesan College (Bishops) old boy to don the green and gold jersey.

Overall, Bishops boast the third-most Springboks produced behind Paul Roos (56) and Grey College (48).

The South Africa website has extensively covered the career of the new kid on the block as well as his family.
