Bernard Parker to wear Kaizer Chiefs jersey one more time!

Bernard Parker will get to wear the Kaizer Chiefs jersey in a match for the first time since his departure from the club two seasons ago.

However, Parker will NOT be representing the Chiefs first team but the Legends.

He has been included in the Amakhosi Legends Team for the first time as confirmed by the club in a statement.

Parker spent 11 years with Chiefs between 2011 and 2022, and the club had extended an offer for him to return in a different capacity in future.

Now, he is returning to feature in the Chiefs Legends Team that will face Bloemfontein Celtic Legends in a friendly match on 28 July.

The encounter will serve as a curtain raiser for the inaugural Toyota Cup match between Chiefs and Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

According to Chiefs, the curtain raiser will kick off at 12:30 while the main event is scheduled for 15:00 at Toyota Stadium on the day.

The Glamour Boys have already released a list of legends and former players who represented the club with pride in the past.

And Parker, whose playing future is still hanging in the balance, has been invited to be part of the Chiefs Legends Team.

With Siyabonga Nomvethe not in the latest team, Parker may be considered his direct replacement where he will feature alongside David Radebe and Collins Mbesuma in attack.

In addition, Chiefs have welcomed back the likes of Siphiwe Tshabalala, Stanton Fredericks and Fabian McCarthy.

The trio missed a number of games played by Chiefs for various reasons. Thabo Mooki remains the head coach.
