Mamelodi Sundowns star attracts English club interest!

Mamelodi Sundowns could be braced for some big offers for some of their top players this coming transfer window.

This is no surprise seeing as though Sundowns players were the core of the Bafana Bafana Afcon squad.

A very impressive Bafana side made it all the way to the semifinals of the tournament in Ivory Coast. In the end, they would walk away from the tournament with a bronze medal. Two players that played every game of the tournament were Sundowns duo Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau. After all the plaudits they received from their tournament performances, it was no surprise that they both got linked with moves abroad.

Mudau the subject of English and French sides

Mokoena was thought to be the subject of interest from Bournemouth in the English Premier League. Clubs in French Ligue 1 were also thought to be interested, including Egyptian giants Al Ahly. For Mudau, as well RC Lens from the French topflight are thought to be interested in his services. This adds to the previously reported interest from Burnley as well. Now if that wasn’t enough, another English side is rumoured to be ready to sign the Sundowns right-back!

According to Soccer-Laduma, Leeds United are interested in signing Mudau from Sundowns!

“There is growing interest in Sailor (Khuliso Mudau). Yes, there have been two known inquires before but now English side Leeds United are interested in him. They have made inquires as well and it’s all up to Sundowns as they don’t want to lose him. This time around, it’s very tight and it will all depend on the talks if they open them,” said one source to the publication.

Another source gives insight on how Leeds scouted Mudau.

Leeds keen to sign him from Sundowns?

“The team (Leeds United) are really interested in him (Mudau). The scouts have been to few of Sundowns and Bafana Bafana games to watch him in action. They have apparently recommended him to the technical team and management in England. At the moment there is nothing finalised but things seem to be moving in the right direction regarding Leeds United,” said the source.

It now remains to be seen if Leeds and Sundowns engage on a transfer for Mudau.
