JUST IN: Charges against bogus Dr Matthew Lani dropped
Charges against TikTok influencer and bogus doctor Matthew Lani have been dropped.
This was confirmed by his legal representative Dumisani Mabunda on Tuesday after Lani appeared at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.
The 27-year-old social media influencer was arrested at Helen Joseph Hospital on Sunday, 29 October and he was charged with impersonating a medical doctor after he stole the identity of a medical intern at Tembisa Hospital.

Here is how you renew your car licence at Shoprite and Checkers
You can now renew your car licence disc at Shoprite and Checkers.
Motorists can renew their vehicle licence online and pay online or in-person at the Money Market counter in any of the 1,350 Shoprite, Checkers and Usave stores nationwide.
This offer is valid from November 1 2023 to January 31 2024 and is in response to the millions of South African vehicle licences that expired in September and October 2023, according to the supermarket retailer.

The SA Weather Services (SAWS) issued a level 2 warning for disruptive snow in the following parts of the country:
- Phumelela / Warden
- Dihlabeng / Bohlokong
- Maluti a Phofung / Van Reenen
It furthermore said the impact of the disruptive snow could include isolated loss of vulnerable livestock and crops and non-major passes closed for a short period.
