IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

1.Yellow Level 4 for Disruptive rain leading flooding of susceptible settlements (formal/informal), roads, low lying areas and bridges is expected over Alfred Nzo District, OR Tambo district and the Elundini local municipalities in the Eastern Cape, as well as over the Ugu, Ethekwini and Ilembme districts in KwaZulu-Natal.

2.Yellow Level 2 for disruptive rain leading to localised flooding of susceptible settlements (formal/informal), roads, low lying areas and bridges is expected over Gauteng, eastern parts of both North-West and Free State, South-western Bushveld and south-western Highveld of Mpumalanga, western and central interior of KwaZulu-Natal But Level 4 along the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal areas like Ilembe and Ugu District Municipalies as well as Ethekwini Metro.SATURDAY(16 APRIL 2022)

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature:Fine and cool to warm, becoming partly cloudy in the evening.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: High

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the west. It will be hot over the Lowveld.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the east.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine, becoming partly cloudy and cool to warm, with scattered showers and thundershowers but isolated in the extreme east.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Fine along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme east but scattered in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-easterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool to cold with a chance of light rain along the south coast and adjacent interior as well as north-eastern interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm along the west coast.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly becoming strong in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Cloudy and cold with isolated showers but scattered along the coast and adjacent interior.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly in the morning, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly, becoming light by evening.

The Eastern half -Cloudy and cold with scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread in the east.

The Eastern half – The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but cool in the south-west. It will become cloudy with scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers but isolated in the north.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate northerly to north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong southerly to south- westerly from the south in the afternoon, spreading north.
