CDC committee to meet again on April 23 to discuss J&J’s COVID-19 shot
A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s advisory committee is scheduled to meet for a second time on Friday, April 23, to discuss rare safety concerns about Johnson & Johnson’s

COVID-19 vaccine. Of the 6.8 million people in the U.S. who have received the J&J’s shot, six women have been hospitalized with severe blood clots after receiving the vaccine. As a result, federal health officials recommended a “pause” in using the vaccine, a decision that was extended when the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices met earlier this week. The emergency meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time on April 23. It will be webcast to the public.
