Dow falls more than 500 points as stocks open sharply lower on COVID case rise

U.S. stocks opened sharply lower Wednesday, under pressure as a continued rise in COVID-19 cases threatened to prompt renewed lockdowns in Europe and raised worries about the strength of the economic recovery in the U.S. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
